East Devon District Council has approved Clinton Devon Estates’ planning application to build 30 new homes for people in the seaside village of Beer, 12 of which will be designated affordable.
The Development Management Committee voted unanimously to grant outline planning consent at a meeting on May 1st 2019 after hearing that the proposals were strongly supported by the local community.
The site at Short Furlong had been allocated for housing in Beer’s Neighbourhood Plan which received support from 90% of voters in a local referendum held at the end of 2018.
A reserved matters application will be submitted later this year.
