Lord Clinton performed a ribbon-cutting to mark the official opening of Cavanna Homes’ new show home at Alfred’s Gate in the East Devon village of Newton Poppleford, near Sidmouth.
Keith Miller, Managing Director at Cavanna Homes, joined Lord Clinton from Clinton Devon Estates, and members of the project team who have brought the 40 new home development to fruition.
Leigh Rix, Head of Property and Land at Clinton Devon Estates, who attended the opening event said: “The official opening of the show home at Alfred’s Gate is a very proud occasion for us and we are thrilled to see the development coming to life with the great work from Cavanna Homes”.

Also at the event were Charles Fane-Trefusis, the son of Lord Clinton, Malcolm Williams of Harrison-Lavers and Potburys, John Baulch and Paul Osborne of LHC Design who designed the masterplan for the area to reflect best practice in sustainability, Andy Sykes of Cavanna Homes, and Charlotte Buggins of LiveWest, who will provide the affordable housing.
Charlotte Buggins, New Business Manager at LiveWest, who are managing the sale of affordable homes at Alfred’s Gate said: “We are absolutely committed to providing homes in rural areas and helping rural communities to survive and prosper.
