Promoting Adaptation to Changing Coasts (PACCo) website launched.

PACCo is a €26m cross-border initiative supported by the European Union’s Interreg V A France Channel England programme that will create a guide for others on how to manage coastlines and estuaries sustainably in the face of climate change.

Focussing on two pilot sites; the lower Otter Valley, East Devon, England and the Saâne Valley in Normandy, France, this exciting project includes the reconnection of two rivers to their floodplains, restoration of lost inter-tidal habitat, the relocation of a cricket club away from the floodplain, moving a campsite to a flood-free location, improving sewage treatment facilities for several communities,  safeguarding public footpaths and two roads,  and restoring wetlands and natural water flows.

To find out more about PACCo and these two sites you can find the website at www.pacco-interreg.com where you will find regular blogs, news, information as well as links to the project’s social media feeds.
